The challenge
Lahore’s complex transportation system, with multiple modes like Speedo buses, the Orange Train, and the Metro Bus, often leaves daily commuters, students, and even tourists confused about the most efficient routes. Many residents and travelers face challenges in finding accurate, real-time information about Metro bus stops, Orange train stations, and speedo bus routes close to their current location. Without a reliable source for this data, navigating the city’s public transport network can become overwhelming, especially for newcomers and foreigners.
The goal
The goal of SASTA RASTA was to create a simple and accessible app that would help Lahore's residents and travelers easily navigate the public transportation system. By integrating Speedo bus routes, Orange Train stations, and Metro Bus routes, the app aims to provide a comprehensive solution for choosing the right transport option. It was essential that users could find nearby stops or stations, see route information, and access live location data seamlessly. The app also needed to include additional features like contact information for transportation services and user feedback options.

SASTA RASTA successfully launched as a user-friendly transportation guide, helping thousands of daily commuters, students, and visitors in Lahore. With the app’s live location tracking and route-mapping features, users can now quickly identify the nearest bus stop or train station and view detailed route information for their chosen mode of transport. This has significantly reduced confusion and improved the overall commuting experience in Lahore. Commuters now find it easier to plan their trips, which has led to increased use of public transportation. The app’s intuitive interface has received positive feedback for its ease of use, particularly its live location features and the helpful route maps for each transit option.

• Route Info Slider: A sliding panel at the bottom of the screen displays route details like bus stop names, timings, and more.
• Search Functionality: Allows users to search for specific bus stops and see which routes include their desired stops.
• Zoom and Info Buttons: Users can zoom in and out of maps and access detailed lists of stops with just a tap.
• Social Media and Feedback: The app’s burger menu provides contact information for transportation services and allows users to leave feedback.
